Conditions of Travel

1. Summary Terms and Conditions

These Conditions of Travel apply to every booking made through Kruger Park Packages (Pty) Ltd (“Kruger Park Packages”, “we”, “our” or “us”). By paying a deposit or making full payment towards any booking, the lead traveller confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Conditions of Travel on behalf of themselves and every person included in the booking.

2. Booking Confirmation

A booking is considered provisional until:

  • the required deposit has been received and confirmed;
  • supplier availability has been confirmed; and
  • written confirmation has been issued by Kruger Park Packages.

No booking is guaranteed until written confirmation has been provided.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations received more than 120 calendar days prior to departure, a refund of 75% of the deposit is allowed.
  • Cancellations received within 119 to 91 calendar days prior to departure, a refund of 50% of the deposit is allowed.
  • Cancellations received within 90 calendar days prior to departure, no refund is allowed.
  • Please note that many suppliers operate under stricter cancellation policies. Where suppliers impose higher cancellation charges, these will apply.
  • Unused accommodation, transfers, meals, safaris or activities are non-refundable.

4. Pricing

Although every effort is made to keep pricing accurate, Kruger Park Packages reserves the right to adjust prices before confirmation due to:

  • supplier increases
  • conservation levy changes
  • fuel surcharges
  • exchange rate fluctuations
  • government taxes
  • unforeseen operating costs

Once a booking has been confirmed and paid in full, no additional charges will apply unless requested by the traveller.

5. Refunds Policy

Should you for any reason need to cancel your booking you must advise us in writing of your cancellation. Details will then be sent to our Accounts Department for assessment and arrangement for any refund due to you, should one be payable. Refunds may take up to 14 (fourteen) business days to be processed. Bank charges, credit card fees, exchange losses and administrative costs may be deducted where applicable. Kruger Park Packages cannot be held responsible for foreign exchange losses incurred between payment and refund.

6. Payment Terms

All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
Prices include VAT where applicable.
A securing deposit of 50% of the total booking value will be due within 48 (forty-eight) hours of receiving the proforma invoice. Full payment will be required for any travel within 90 (ninety) calendar days of the travel date.
Balance payments must be received before a minimum of 90 (ninety) calendar days prior to travel unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Failure to make payment by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking without further notice.

7. Delays

If client/s miss their pickup because of delayed flights or for other reasons, the cost to provide alternative transport and join their group will be for the client/s expense. 

8. Liability

Kruger Park Packages acts as an intermediary between travellers and third-party suppliers.
We shall not be liable for, except where required by applicable law:

  • acts or omissions of suppliers
  • airline delays
  • missed connections
  • accommodation failures
  • transport delays
  • lost luggage
  • personal injury
  • illness
  • theft
  • property damage
  • consequential losses
  • loss of enjoyment

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Kruger Park Packages’ total liability arising from any booking shall not exceed the total amount paid directly to Kruger Park Packages for that booking. Kruger Park Packages shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential or incidental damages, including but not limited to:

  • loss of enjoyment;
  • emotional distress;
  • loss of income;
  • missed business opportunities;
  • additional accommodation or transport expenses;
  • missed onward travel arrangements.

Nothing in these Conditions of Travel excludes any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable South African legislation.

9. Travel and Medical Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and should include:

  • cancellation cover
  • medical expenses
  • emergency evacuation
  • baggage
  • personal liability

Kruger Park Packages accepts no responsibility for losses that would ordinarily be covered by travel insurance.

10. Wildlife Disclaimer

Safari experiences involve wild animals in their natural habitat. Although every reasonable precaution is taken by guides and lodges, wildlife remains unpredictable. Participation in safari activities is entirely at the traveller’s own risk. Kruger Park Packages cannot accept liability for injury, illness, death or property damage resulting from encounters with wildlife.

11. Passports, Visas and Entry Requirements

Travellers are solely responsible for ensuring they hold:

  • valid passports
  • visas
  • vaccination certificates
  • health documentation
  • parental consent documentation where required

Failure to comply with immigration requirements resulting in denied boarding or refused entry remains the traveller’s responsibility.

12. Child Policy

Children under the age of 18 (eighteen) years may be required to present additional documents to Immigration Officials when boarding flights to South Africa. Please check regulations with your nearest South African Embassy or Consulate according to your Nationality. KrugerParkPackages.com is not responsible in the event of children being denied boarding flights. Children remain the responsibility of their parents or legal guardians at all times. Certain lodges and safari operators apply minimum age restrictions.

13. Alterations to Tours

Should you request amendments after confirmation, we will gladly assist wherever possible.
Changes are subject to:

  • supplier availability
  • amendment fees
  • additional costs

Certain bookings may not be amendable.

Occasionally circumstances beyond our control require us to substitute or make changes to accommodation, safari vehicles, guides, transfers and activities. Any substitutions will always be of a comparable standard wherever reasonably possible.

14. Force Majure

Kruger Park Packages shall not be liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • severe weather
  • floods
  • fires
  • pandemics
  • epidemics
  • government restrictions
  • border closures
  • strikes
  • civil unrest
  • war
  • terrorism
  • natural disasters
  • road closures
  • supplier insolvency

No compensation shall be payable under these circumstances.

15. Health and Medical Conditions

Travellers are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to travel.
Guests should seek professional medical advice regarding:

  • malaria prophylaxis
  • vaccinations
  • existing medical conditions

Any condition that may affect participation in safari activities should be disclosed before travel.

16. Conduct of Travellers

The comfort, safety and enjoyment of all guests is of the utmost importance. Travellers are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner throughout their journey. Kruger Park Packages and its suppliers reserve the right to refuse participation in any activity, remove a traveller from a safari, accommodation establishment or transfer, or terminate travel arrangements without refund should a traveller and any additional costs arising from such conduct shall be for the traveller’s own account:

  • behave in a threatening, abusive or aggressive manner;
  • be under the excessive influence of alcohol or illegal substances;
  • endanger themselves, other guests, staff or wildlife;
  • deliberately damage property;
  • fail to follow lawful instructions issued by guides, drivers or lodge management.

Travellers shall be responsible for any loss or damage caused by themselves or members of their party to accommodation, safari vehicles, equipment or any other property during their journey.

Kruger Park Packages reserves the right to recover any repair, replacement or cleaning costs from the responsible traveller.

17. Special Requests and Dietary Requirements

Dietary requirements, room requests and accessibility requirements should be advised at the time of booking. While every effort will be made to accommodate requests, these cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.

18. Baggage Policy

On small group safaris, passengers are allowed one check-in bag (maximum 20 kgs) and one cabin bag (max 7 kgs) so kindly advise our office if you have excess baggage. Additional luggage may incur extra transport charges. All baggage remains at the traveller’s own risk.

19. Photography and Reviews

Photography for personal use is encouraged.

However, travellers acknowledge that:

  • drones are strictly prohibited within the Kruger National Park unless authorised by SANParks and all relevant authorities;
  • photography must never interfere with wildlife or the enjoyment of other guests;
  • commercial photography or filming requires prior written approval from the relevant authorities.

Kruger Park Packages accepts no responsibility for confiscated equipment or penalties arising from unauthorised drone or commercial photography.

By submitting photographs, videos or reviews after your safari, you grant Kruger Park Packages a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use this content for future marketing unless you expressly request otherwise in writing.
